More Dieter-Friendly Foods

Dieter-friendly foods typically share characteristics such as low calories, high fiber, and essential nutrients that support overall health while aiding weight management. I recently blogged about celery, which I call a "dieter's friend". Here are several other foods that can be classified as dieter-friendly, along with the reasons why they are effective for those looking to maintain or lose weight: Leafy Greens (spinach, kale, Swiss chard) High in fiber and very low in calories, leafy greens can be added to meals in large quantities without significantly increasing calorie intake. They're also rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) Berries are low in calories but high in fiber and nutrients. Delicious Chocolate Mug Cake with Yummy Topping

This keto version of chocolate mug cake is one of my favorite snacks.
This time I topped it with a spoonful of low carb salted caramel sauce,
some sugar free chocolate chips, and a few pecans. Complete yumminess!

Sometimes you just gotta have dessert, even if you're watching your carbs. I love this recipe for chocolate keto mug cake. It's easy and quick and satisfies my sweet tooth.

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar substitute (I use a granulated erythritol/stevia blend)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Coat a microwave safe mug with cooking oil. In a small bown beat egg and heavy cream. Stir in vanilla extract. In another small bowl combine dry ingredients and mash any lumps in the cocoa powder with a fork. Stir until smooth. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix well. Add batter to mug. Tap on counter a few times to remove air bubbles. Microwave on full power for 90 seconds.

Tip cake out of mug onto a small dessert plate. Top with your favorite low carb toppings. I love low carb salted caramel sauce, a few sugar free chocolate chips, and some pecans. It's very tasty!
